Great video! I always enjoy these weekly roundup videos. I also want to say, THANK YOU for always burning candles throughly before doing post burn reviews. It is so appropriated! I too, wish Kringle would restock well received scents more frequently. And, yes, wish Homeworx would return to their former glory. That Expresso Martini was released last year as part of the QVC CIJ TSV (wow, that's a lot of abbreviations 😆). That version of Expresso Martini was very boozy but was the strongest scent amongst the 7 fragrances offered in that TSV. 💜

I just bought the Paula’s Choice BHA 2% from your recommendation. I don’t know where it’ll fit on my routine though. Do you use tretinoin? If so, do you use the PC BHA along with it? Or should they be used separately? Do I apply moisturizer after applying it on the skin? I even watched your morning and evening skincare routine that was posted about 5 months ago, but this product wasn’t featured then. Appreciate any input you may have!!

I LOVE your pomander scent MUCH better than this Pinecones & Pomander. This one is way too astringent for my nose. Everyone but me says they smell citrus, but I get too much “cat pee tree” in it🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Hi Melanie. Question for you. I have a candle lamp that I bought from Amazon and I have noticed that the bulb goes out within a week. I purchased more bulbs because I missed the return window from Amazon. Do I have a dud or is that normal for candle lamps? I tried to add this comment to your weekly candle video, but I could not comment, YT is so weird at times!

If you burn White Birch & Rain and Kittens & Cashmere outside the mint note imight help repel insects. 🐜 I agree with a previous comment that I wanted the latter to be a warm cashmere blanket type scent instead. Mint has never screamed fall to me and I wish they did something more creative for fall instead. To me pomander is Christmas and not fall and in my book it has to have clove and I noticed clove isn’t even in the notes. I hope they rerelease yours because I missed out on it. Warm & Toasty sounds like one I’d like around Halloween…I don’t do Halloween candles, but I like a campfire toasted marshmallow or smoked vanilla fragrances then instead. The berry scone one sounds good to me.🍂🍎

I’m excited for CC glazed berry scones, pinecones and pomander, praline buttercream, Kringle pumpkin rum toddy and Bourbon Apple and oud. Is the Pinecone and pomander more holiday? And is the Apple one got a lot of oud? I like wood scents but not oud. Thanks!

So in summary, it sounds like you like the Pomander and Blueberry Scone candles on cold stiff...any others? Although I know you want to burn the candle at least 1/3 of the way before reviewing the candle, could you give us a first impression video of the ones you're on the fence with since they are released this Thursday?

Happy weekend, Melanie! I have a HomeWorx Golden Guava 4-wick from 2019 that I got second hand that I'm working on. Unfortunately it's turned into a mess... it started getting puny wicks, so I poured some of the wax off, then two of the wicks just refused to stay lit. The other two wicks are doing fine and their clips are now visible. I'm almost to the end of the candle so I'll go ahead and finish it, but it is annoying to not be able to finish a candle in the normal way (if that makes sense). I also wanted to mention, regarding Country Candle and the burn performance, this pertains to their paraffin formula... I have experienced the flames getting very low after about the 3rd or 4th burn on two separate candles (Sunday Funday and Golden Mums & Honeycrisp). They were so low to the point where even very carefully moving the candle resulted in the flames going out. In both instances I ended up pouring the melted wax out, and that solved the problem. I know the Country Candles are now 100% soy, but I know you mentioned earlier in the spring that you were experiencing low flames on one of the new releases. I just wanted to add what I experienced when they were still paraffin. I'm glad to hear that despite some hiccups, the wicks/flames in the new Country Candle soy formulation are performing well. For reasons I won't get into here, I have had to abstain from making purchases online, so I haven't tried Country Candle since the formulation change, but I pray my circumstances get better for me to be able to buy things online again (it is very convenient, isn't it?). And, yes, I agree that Sea Breeze needs to stay in the lineup! Looking forward to your Fall 2024 preview!! 😊

Bum Bum cream is epic. I have all the things, too. In the middle of the winter I like to smell like summer! I love a good peach and a good raspberry! I snapped a wick the other day. I just rolled my eyes at myself. I got 3 raspberry rose'. I couldn't help myself. Have a great weekend ❌️ ⭕️

I got a couple candles at the last Kringle sale. Warm cotton, love! And herbal tea. The wicks on the herbal tea keep almost petering out when it gets a full wax pool. I am actually pouring off the wax and relighting. That seems to work for a short time, but the problem returns eventually. I’m not a candle expert enough to know what and why that is happening. Smells yummy though!

Picked this one up for 8.50 🎉 The label is pretty. I also didn’t have luck with the almond croissant. I burned one twice and it smelled so Burnt and gross! It got returned with my backup! My tastes have changed also, I primarily used to burn bakery candles, but now I like more fresh scents. I’ve always burned every type of candle. I was never too picky. But now I’m def more picky with my bakery/gourmand scents.

cherry blossom soju went down to 6 bucks and some change, just a heads up if you didnt know. Not to tempt you lol. I passed on it because 1 was enough. I get a pretty shampoo from it, i wish i got bum bum from it 🤤 why havent they done an identical dupe in candle form?! That would be amazing. They did a whole body care dupe line for sdj but no candles :( boooo Raspberry rosé was a repackage of raspberry mimosa and that just got put out with the new 3 wicks this week btw. :B

Morning, Happy Saturday. BBW Firecracker Pop with Yankee's Home Classics Island Getaway was a nice pairing with Pop taking over for a bit. It's done and finished last night. Goose Creek's Watermelon Lemonade will be next. Blueberry Milkshake looks really good. Christmas in July with Christmas Cupcake, nice. My Pop extinguished itself with one wick going out yesterday, little frustrating but two were lit and burned the wax down. Congrats on avoiding the SAS haul Melanie :D Since you love peaches, don't forget the song "Peaches" by The Presidents of The United States band. Nice roundup.

Back in 2018 HomeWorx candles were mostly still made in the USA and I think I remember that’s the year when they moved candle production to Viet Nam. I am not a ‘candle historian’, lol, but I seem to remember that. It may just be my imagination, but it seemed to the USA made candles gave better performance. I am looking forward to hearing about the new Kringle fall collection. Although I really am not ready for fall melting just yet, so I think I’ll wait until September and make a combined Kringle order for new fall and new holiday fragrances that usually are released then.

Hi Melanie it’s not particularly hot here in Scotland 😂(around 18 degrees or in the sixties by the US system). It’s a mixture of sunny spells and rain showers. Scotland has weird weather honestly. I picked up a couple of samples this week of the glossier foundation and concealer, so I’m trying them out (I’m the palest shade as usual 😂). I’m the opposite to you with super dry, rosacea and eczema prone skin (I also have eczema on body and scalp). I haven’t used a clay mask since my early teens and I am 52😂, but I love a moisturiser (plus toner and essence) both day and night. Best wishes x

I kept waiting for you to bring out the pictures from the past :). I'm 60 and my #1 regret is sunbathing. I grew up in the south and my goal every summer was to get the darkest tan possible. Now I spend time trying to figure out how to get rid of all the sun damage. I have the thin eyebrows, and so does my 80 year old mother, so this trend was around way to long. The third regret would be the 80's hairstyle with the tall hair plastered in hairspray. It makes for a good laugh now though.

I recently read a New York Times article titled, “How Much Blush is Too Much”, and it mentions ’blush blindness’. I have definitely worn too much blush myself in the past. During the pandemic I stopped wearing makeup for a while and finally realized I have naturally rosy cheeks and that I don’t ‘have’ to wear blush. It makes me wonder why I would put so much blush on for years, when I really didn’t need it. My biggest beauty regret is eyebrows too. If the Brooke Shields look had still been popular in the 90’s instead of the super-model-skinny-brow-look most of us probably would’ve gotten through that decade with better brows. My mother told me not to pluck my brows, but I didn’t listen to her and wielded those tweezers often. I stopped plucking completely around 2010’ish and it took years, but most of them grew back and I don’t know how honestly after so long. But, I do have some areas I need brow pencil to fill in and I know that probably wouldn’t be necessary if I just let them alone.🤦🏻‍♀️

I am almost 55. Lol, I had the Kate plus 8 haircut and color for a good 3-4 years. I believe they are now calling it the "Karen." I don't regret the hairstyles or eyebrows, I regret tanning beds. I probably should stop box dyeing my hair red, but im not there yet. My husband would love for me to embrace the grey.
